Vasil Bachev is the Delasport BIBL MVP for March

Vasil Bachev of BC Akademik Plovdiv is the Delasport Balkan League MVP for the month of March. The Bulgarian NT guard had some good showings in the three games his squad played and played a key part in the team's reaching the Final Four of the competition.

Bachev started in all three games - two wins over KK Kumanovo 2009 and an overtime loss against Hapoel Holon. His leadership was visible in all of those games as he led by example and with a hot shooting. In the three games he had a total of 13 triples without having a game with less than four made. He contributed to the team's success over the North Macedonian side and in the same time was close to leading it to a shocking victory in Israel. Overall Bachev had an efficiency rating of 19 which was good enough for his MVP recognition for March.

The guard averaged just under 19 points per game with his best coming against Kumanovo on March 3rd finishing with 24 points. He did very well against Hapoel in Holon scoring 18 as his team really put out a great performance.

So far this season Bachev has been one of the key's for Akademik's good form. The team finished first in its group in Stage 1 and is now preparing for participation in the Final 4. To have a chance to succeed there, there's no doubt that the guard will have to step up, like he is doing until now. In 10 games so far Bachev is averaging 12.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists being part of a balanced team effort.
