3 in a row for Akademik after coming back from 12 down against Beroe

BC Akademik Plovdiv recorded its third straight win in group B of Delasport Balkan League. The competition's runners-up from last season hosted fellow Bulgarian side BC Beroe and won 74-68 after a comeback in the second half. It was the second time those teams met in three days as on Monday Akademik won a game from the Bulgarian league. The visitors led early and their advantage went as high as 12 points but couldn't hold on to it. In the second half the home side managed to completely turn the score around and won the game putting them 3-0 in the standings. Next Wednesday Akademik will travel to Skopje to play TFT while Beroe will also play away and will go up against Sigal Prishtina on Monday and then Ibar on Wednesday.Akademik scored the first 4 points of the game but the visitors answered with 7 in a row to take the lead. The home side finally ended their scoring drought but Beroe kept leading until the end of the quarter when they were up by 5 points. Shortly after the second period started, The Greens increased their advantage to 8 points. In those minutes they controlled the game and with 3:47 to play in the half, their lead went to 12 points. Shortly after Akademik made a 9-0 run to come back in the game as after Beroe scored, the visitors led by just 4 at the break.
Just two minutes after the second half started, Akademik took the lead thanks to a Titkov triple. Margaritov answered with the same but the next 8 points were the home team which took a 7-point advantage. Beroe finally managed to score to cut the deficit to 3 but the hosts made an 8-2 run after to go up by 9. Thanks to a triple by Sotirov the difference was cut to 6 and this is how the third quarter finished.
The visitors didn't score a single point for the first 5:30 minutes of the last quarter but Akademik didn't so much better as they had just 4 to go up by 10. After Beroe finally scored, Efe Yurtly answered with a triple to put the hosts ahead by 11 as they held on without problems after that.
The hosts were led by Vasil Bachev who finished with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Efe Yurtlu also did well finishing with 14 points and 9 rebounds.
Obinna Oleka was the top performer for the visitors with 15 points and 9 rebounds as Cadarian Raines had 14 and 6.
