Akademik leaves it late to stay undefeated thanks to another comeback

Akademik Plovdiv recorded its fourth straight win in Group B of Delasport Balkan League and is in a great position to advance, although so early in the stage. The Plovdiv side visited KK TFT and thanks to a better performance in the final minutes took 83-75 victory. It was a very close and even game throughout but in the final ten minutes the Bulgarian side showed better nerves and came out on top. It was another comeback effort in an away game after the same happened against Sigal Prishtina two weeks ago. That victory puts Akademik on a 4-0 record while TFT is now at 1-1. Both teams will meet again on November 8th and in the week before the Skopje team will travel to Israel to play Ironi Nahariya.After the teams exchanged baskets and leads in the first half, shortly after the second started went up by 10 points thanks to an 11-0 run.v The difference reached 11 soon after but Akademik anwered and started closing the gap. In the final minute of the quarter Gugino scored a triple to tie the score and to erase all the lead that the hosts had. Just after the middle of the final quarter, the score was tied but then Akademik made their move. The visitors went on a run of 8 poitns in a row to took the lead for good as they answered the home side's challenge after that and celebrated the win.
Adriyan Sekulov and Anthony Gugino were the top scorers for the winning team as both had 19 points. Vasil Bachev once again did well and had 14 points and 6 rebounds,
The hosts were led by Landrius Horton who had 13 points as Ivan Sapundjiev added 11.
