Domestic leagues: 20 triples make history for Akademik

BC Akademik Bultex 99 made history after reaching the semifinals of Bulgarian league for first time ever. The Plovdiv side defeated Yambol 103-72 at home to advance to the semifinals after winning 2-1 the series.

The hosts scored their first seven triples on their way to a total of 20 in the game. They led early but then Yambol came back to close the gap to just 3. Akademik however responded with 10-0 after that and until the end the team dominated.

Vasil Bachev finished with 18 points for the winners as Martin Durchev had 16 and 9 assists.

Akademik will play Balkan in the semifinals as they start on May 6th, Sunday.
