No Greek teams in BIBL

The management of the BIBL officially announced that there will be no Greek teams in the league.

BIBL been trying to contact either the Greek Basketball Federation or any clubs directly in Greece, but we have not received any straight answer from them. The management of the league received some calls from other teams, not so strong and with not such big traditions in basketball in Greece, but in our view they are not at the level to play in the League. Considering the fact that there is no interest and no serious intentions, the BIBL took decision not to wait anymore and took them out from the BIBL. However, they do believe that even without them, the BIBL will be an equal in value competition, with strong teams and quality games.

Moreover, the Opening Game of the BIBL will take place on 07.10.2008 – Tuesday, 19:00h in “Arena Samokov” with the game between Rilski Sportist and Mega Aqua Belgrade (re-scheduled from Round 9 -28.01.2009).

The schedule for Group “A” remains the same. The team supposed to play against the Greek team rests in the respective round. For Group “B” we do have new schedule and you can find id if you click on the link down below.
