Fine for Gaz Metan and win for Rilski Official EUROHOLD BIBL statement

The leader in Group A Gaz Metan smashed last season Balkan League champion Rilski Sportist in Medias. Except the first minutes of the meeting Romanians led throughout and won in the end 86-68. It was the fourth home game for Gaz Metan from 5 possible. Anyway, this win won`t count to Gaz Metan`s balance, as they used too many non-European player as you will see down in the article. The curious in the case is that this is the second similar game, Gaz Metan are involved in, as they already won 20-0 against Rabotnicki, but this time they are on the other side.

 

 

Decision regarding the game CS Gaz Metan Medias - Rilski Sportist

Regarding the case of CS Gaz Metan Medias playing with 5 American players in the rostef of 12 and on the court in game !-13 on 15.12.2009 against BC Rilski Sportist, applying the Official Regulations, Chapter X, p.7 Use of unlicensed or ineligible players, subpoint 7.1 an 7.2, the report of the Commissioner of the game, the official scoresheet and statistic sheet and after an official complain of BC Rilski Sportist, EUROHOLD BIBL took the following decision:






  1. Becoming a member of the EUROHOLD BIBL and accepting the Official Regulations of the League, BC Gaz Metan was aware of the restrictions regarding non-European players. However, they skipped the rules and played with 5 (five) non-European players. An official warning letter was sent to the club on 10.12.2009 obviously with no result and effect. Therefore, BIBL dsiregards and cancels the final score of the game on 15.12.2009 (86:68 ti BC Gaz Metan) and the game is awarded to the opponents of BC Rilski Sportist by 20:0. BC Gaz Metan receives 0 (zero points) in the classification.









  2. The maximum fine of EURO 3000 (three thousand euro) is imposed as BC Gaz Metan disregarded our warning letter dating from 10.12.2009









  3. If there occurs next or subsequent in fraction of the Official Regulations in this section, BC Gaz Metan will be disqualified for the remainder of the competition and a fine up to EURO 10 000 (ten thousand euro) will be imposed.
