HKK Zrinjski Mostar continued with their good efforts in the EUROHOLD Balkan League. Tonight Boris Dzidzic′s squad achieved their third straight win in the competition, after defeating OKK Beograd 98-96 at home in Bijeli Brijeg Hall in Mostar. 

 
This is Zrinjski′s second consecutive win, and now they stand alone on the top of Group A with a balance of 3-0, while OKK Beograd split the second place with Levski  with 2-1 record.
 
The game started off with a three-pointer by Srdjan Zivkovic, but Seid Hajric scored 2 free-throws for the hosts, followed by 6-0 series for OKK. Mornar quickly started pressing their opponents and equal the score – 24:24 with 1.52 left in the first.  In the remaining time the lead was changed several times and  after 10 minutes the guests from Belgrade  were up by 2 points – 29:31.
 
In the begining of the second quarter, Zrinjski took the game in their hands the difference varied between 4 and 6 points until the end of the quarter. Halfway through the game the home team was up by 5 - 53:48. Sejd Hajric was the best player on the court during the first half with 17 points for the hosts.
 
OKK Beograd start the second half in the best possible way, as they managed to redused their trail and even to tie the score,  but HKK Zrinjski made a good scoring run , after that they started turning things around. After the third period  Boris Dzidzic’s side still had the lead 75-66.
 
In the decisive fourth period, OKK made a lot of attempts to decrease their trail, but with a great offence play and a strong support by their fans, HKK Zrinjski kept their lead 3 minutes before the end. In the last minutes, OKK found the way to come back in the game,managing to melt down the difference to only one point, but however the team from Mostar maintained their position in the last quarter, and didn′t let the victory slip away, as finally they won 98-96 in order to make it three wins in a row in the EUROHOLD Balkan League.

 

Seid Hairic was the most efficient for the winners with 25 points and 7 rebounds, while Lazar Simonovic and Zeljko Sakic ended with 18 points each.

 

For OKK, the 217cm tall center Nenad Misanovic scored the most - 17, along with 5 boards. Three players scored 13 points each one - Dragan Mitrovic, Srdjan Zivkovic and Aleksandar Vasic.

 

In the next fifth round next week, HKK Zrinjski is travelling to Sofia, to face the champions from the last season BC Levski in the Group A derby, while OKK will play against KK Ulcinj at home.
