Domestic leagues: Peja wins the big derby, Bashkimi and Trepca also get victories

KB Peja managed to win the big derby of the Kosovo league. At home the team defeated the champions KB Sigal Prishtina 81-73 and handed the capital team′s second straight defeat since the season started.

 

The visitors had the better start and led by 12 points after ten minutes. At the break the advantage was 8 but then Peja changed. The hosts cam out on fire and not only tied the score but even pulled away. Sigal however responded and as both sides fought hard, no one could win and the match went to overtime. Peja started it with some good plays, managed to build a lead and won.

 

KB Trepca recorded a second easy victory after downing Ylli 99-66 away from home. The team from Mitrovica had hard time during the first quarter which finished at 20 points apiece. After that though the visitors took over and had no problems.

 

Top scorer for the winners was Frederic Stutz with his 20 points. Montreal Scott added 17 points and Mise Diminic had 16.


KB Bashkimi also recorded its second win. It was an easy one and came away against Kerasan Prishtina - 83-46. The visitors from Prizren won all four quarters and were building their advantage from start to finish.

 

Kayen Locke was the top performer for the win with 20 points and 4 rebounds. Kejuan Johnson added 19 points and 5 assists while Edmond Kryeziu had 12 points.
