Domestic leagues: Akademik wins a thriller, Levski holds on

BC Akademik Bultex 99 recorded its third straight win from the start of the season. The Plovdiv team hosted BC Rilski Sportist and won the battle of two BIBL sides 79-74 after overtime.

It was a very close game from start to finish with both teams changing leads. Rilski managed to take a 6-point edge in the last period but Akademik not only tied the score but went up by 2. After Georgiev though tied the score the game went to overtime in which Umipig was the one who led the home team to a win.

Manuel Johnson had 19 points for the hosts as Isaiah Umipig added 14. Martin Marinov and Zlatin Georgiev had 15 points apiece for Rilski.

BC Levski 2014 got its second win of the season after downing Spartak Pleven 93-87 away. The Blues had a great first half and led by 26 points at one moment. At the break it was 24 but Spartak didn′t give up. The hosts managed to cut the deficit to just 3 points with three minutes to play but Levski held on at the end.

Aleks Simeonov was the top scorer for the win with 34 points as Aleksandar Milov had 14.
