Akademik Plovdiv shops in Latvia

The second new signing for Akademik Plovdiv this off-season comes from Latvia. The Delasport Balkan League runner-up strengthened its frontcourt by adding experienced forward Roberts Freimanis.

The Latvian is 30-years old and plays as a power forward. Last season he played in Estonia for Rapla and averaged 12.5 points and 7 rebounds in 19 games of the local league. He also took part in 26 games in Latvian-Estonian league averaging 13.3 points and 8.1 rebounds.

So far in his career Freimanis has played for teams in his native Latvia and in Estonia. He is joining Antony Gugino and Ruot Monyyong as the rotation under the basket for coach Yordan Yankov.
