     Spartak Pleven reduce their chances to continue in the next round of Eurohold
Balkan League after losing today in Bucharest against the local Steaua with
102-105.
Spartak led throughout the whole game, but a series of 4 minutes without a basket in the end of the fourth period failed all their efforts in the today`s meeting. For Steaua, it was first win after 6 consecutive losses, but they remained on the bottom in the standings in Group B.
Spartak started the game better and in the first minute take an early advantage 5-0. Bulgarian representative continued its good game and a little later led with 13-5. Steaua gradually equalize the game and reduce the difference up to 2 points. However, the guests not missed their lead until the end of the first part when the result was equalized. At the beginning of the second quarter Spartak pulled by 7 points ahead. By the end of this period of Pleven did not allow a reversal, but in the last few minutes, the team from Bucharest got back again and first half ended to 49-51.
      After the break, despite the Steaua`s attempts to took the lead and not giv result and they only managed to equalize at 62-62. Spartak Pleven however, again responded well and took the lead again. Their lead reached 8 points, but the last basket for the hosts in the last second of the period reduced the trail to 75-81. Steaua first scoring in the last quarter. After that, hosts scored 5 consecutive points and the result was equalized again, this time at 86-86. Again, however Steaua failed to lead, but at the expense of the Bulgarians made a 8-0 record. Very bad decisions from the Bulgarian team, allowed the hosts to score 9 points in a row and take the lead for the first time in the game. Romanians then scored two consecutive baskets and led by 5 points minutes before the end. After a three-pointer by Rob Preston, Spartak still reduced by 1 point 6 seconds remaining, when Steaua scored two free-throws, after which Hrisimir Dimitrov try shooting from about 9 meters, but
the ball hit the board.

      Anthony Miles was the most efficient for the winners with 32 points, and also add 7 rebounds. Monty Mack scored 29, and Ronald Timus nailed 19 for the success. Best scorer on the field was Rob Preston - he finished with 33 points. He added 9 rebounds and 4 assists. With 23 points ended Iliya Stankov, while the captain Hrisimir Dimitrov scored 17 in the losing effort.
