Official statement regarding partcipation of BC Sigal Prishtina in EUROHOLD Balkan League, season 2013/2014

During the FINAL Four 2013 which took place in Samokov, Bulgaria, the annual Board Meeting of EUROHOLD Balkan League took place. There were present the National Federations of Bulgaria, Israel, Macedonia, Montenegro and Romania.   One of the issues discussed was the request of BC Sigal Prishtina to participate in the competition after in the autumn of 2012 the Central Board of FIBA gave them official permission for this step.   No one of the Federations-members of EUROHOLD Balkan League and the National Federations of Croatia and Greece which sent official comments, has any objections regarding that request as long as BC Sigal Prishtina fulfills all the requirements of FIBA, FIBA Europe and the EUROHOLD Balkan League itself along with keeping strictly the Official Rules and Regulations of the competition. The only Federation that did not give any opinion yet is the Basketball Federation of Serbia   After a meeting held on 21.04.2013 between Mr. Assen Christov - Executive Director of the League, Mr. Shay Shtriks - Sports Director and Mr. Nazmi Pacarada and Mr. Artan Rugova, and after knowing the fact that on Friday an agreement between the governments of Serbia and Kosovo was finalized, with the official permission of FIBA, a decision was taken BC Sigal Prishtina to be accepted to play in EUROHOLD Balkan League for season 2013-2014.   As spoken and confirmed in the Board Meeting, all the other technical details will be discussed within the following few weeks, after  the League will finish with the structure, number of participating countries and teams.   FIBA, FIBA Europe and the member-Federations will be officially informed about the decision.
