Blerand Stavileci, president of Sigal Prishtina: It′s the most important moment of my life

Blerand Stavileci is the president of KB Sigal Prishtina - the new champion in EUROHOLD Balkan League. He is also one of the biggest fans of the team and supports it with his heart. He was also in Samokov for the final and after that really couldn′t describe his feelings. Here is what Mr. Stavileci had to say after his team lifted the trophy:

"It′s not one of the greatest and most important moments in my life, it′s the most important one. It′s the greatest one - not only for me but for the team, for the board, for the players, for the fans. Every two minutes I was getting photos from the boulevard in Prishtina and it was crazy. I don′t remember any time in our country that something like that was organized. Even though we played in Samokov, it was like the game was played in two locations at the same time. It′s undescrivable.
Frankly said, I didn′t imagine us becoming champions when we entered the league. We were organizing our team on becoming a reference model to the other teams from Kosovo - how a basketball team should be organized. Last season we fixed an objective of being between the Top 6 teams. For this year we said OK - last year we went to the semifinals, so let′s fix the goal to be to reach the final so we′ll be vice champions. But with the spirit that we showed and especially how we played the last three months, I had a good feeling that we would be the champions.

This league is not important only for Sigal Prishtina and not only for basketball in Kosovo. It′s important for the sport in Kosovo. Once again I have to thank Assen Christov, Shay Shtriks, Lubomira Shtriks and everybody involved. They are friends of us who at the beginning understood that we want to play. It′s not about politics, we just wanted to play and not to be isolated, especially in a country where the basketball is Nr. 1 sport. We knew that we can give a lot of good presentation, not only regarding sports performance but also in management. I think that we achieved this and we are happy. I have to congratulate everybody but especially one big thanks to Assen, Shay and Lubomira.

For sure you′ll see us next season as well. For us EUROHOLD Balkan League will be the first and primary objective. I do believe that, with the latest developments, next season Balkan League will be even more important than it was those two seasons and we′ll be here. It′s like our home."
