Shay Shtriks: We are going to have strong, clean and interesting season

Here is the official statement of Mr. Shay Shtriks - Sports Director of SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League before the start of the new season: 
 
Today, 13.10.2015, season 2015-16 of BIBL starts. Season 8 will start with a lot of changes, the first of which is that we are now SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. The new name of the league and the new partner will be with us for the next three seasons and we are sure that the same as EUROHOLD Balkan League operated in high professional standard for seven seasons, the same it will be with SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan league.
 
The main professional change is the new system for the nine teams that will participate this season in BIBL. Nine teams will be divided in two groups and we will have first, second and final stage - totally 65 games, one game less then last season. 
 
The benefit of the new system is that eight teams will have the possibility to play international games up to March 2016. 
 
All the clubs, including the new ones, will have competitive rosters which include experienced players, locals and foreigners, supported by young local players with potential. We expect to see very close and interesting games during all the season.        
 
This season all the games will be broadcast live on SportMedia TV and at least 70% of the games during all the season will be broadcast live in TV. Bulgarian National TV, our old and good partner, will continue to broadcast the games of the Bulgarian teams - home and away, and all the games of the three teams from Kosovo will be broadcast mainly in Super Sport. From the second round also the games from Macedonia, if the team will qualify, will be broadcast live in the TV.
 
Once again we are going to have strong, clean and interesting basketball season and I am sure that all the basketball fans in the Balkan region will enjoy great basketball.
