Kumanovo can′t be stopped, makes it 5 in a row

KK Kumanovo 2009 still cannot be stopped in group A of SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. The team visited KK Teodo in Round 6 game and led from start to finish to win 73-65. With that result Kumanovo remains unbeaten in the competition with 5 wins from 5 games. Teodo′s run of three straight home wins ended tonight as now the team stands at 3-2 record. Next week Kumanovo will visit KB Sigal Prishitina while Teodo will visit the same time on December 6th.

Kumanovo had a very good start and scored the first 8 points of the game. With two minutes to play in the first quarter the hosts tied at 15 but the last 2 points in it were for the visitors. The teams exchanged baskets early in the second period and then Kumanovo took a slight advantage. Not only that but the Macedonians held on to it and increased it to 7 at the break.

Kumanovo had a very good third quarter in which the visitors pulled away even more. Soon after it started their advantage reached double digits and then with an 8-0 run and good defense they made it 16 points. However a 10-0 run for Teodo to start the fourth period cut the deficit to only 7 points and brought the hosts back in the game. With 4:38 to play Danilo Mijatovic hit a very important triple for the visitors to make it a 10-point game and after the hosts missed some chances he hit another one minute and a half later to make it 11 points. Teodo didn′t stop fighting and cut the deficit to just 6 but with 90 seconds on the clock the hosts lost the ball and allowed the visitors to score and seal the outcome. 

The visitors played without their leader Aleksandar Kostoski but the others stepped up. Top scorer for the winners was Miladin Pekovic who finished with 17 points. Danilo Mijatovic did well with 15 points as Stefan Zivanovic had 13, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

Once again the top performer for Teodo was Radomir Marojevic who finished with 22 points. Milos Popovic was the only other player to score in double figures as he added 10 points.
