Akademik defeats Levski for second time in 10 days

The hosts Akademik Bultex 99 won the friendly tournament in Plovdiv. In the final the team defeated Levski 2014 84-67 after a great fourth quarter. This was Akademik′s second win over that opponent after the one in Pleven 10 days ago.

The teams exchanged runs in the first period but in the second Levski did very well to go up by 7 at the break. Akademik responded in the third to tie the score and then decided everything in the last quarter. The home side made a 20-6 run which was more than enough for the win.

The new signing Isiah Umipig finished with 23 points and 5 assists for the winners while Martin Durchev had 17. For Levski 16 points had Veselin Veselinov as Kris Minkov finished with 14 and 7 rebounds.
