Domestic leagues: Heavy defeat for Levski Lukoil, Akademik get win number 10

BC Levski Lukoil suffered a heavy home defeat in Bulgarian league. The team hosted Balkan and was totally outplayed eventually losing 63-86.

The hosts started the game by scoring the first 6 points but then Balkan answered with 23-0 run to pull away. After one quarter the difference was 18 points and at the break it came down to 9. At the start of the third Levski cut it to 6 but the visitors responded, again took a double-digit lead and eventually won the game.

Keith Clanton and Pavlin Ivanov had 13 points apiece for The Blues.

Akademik Bultex 99 defeated Spartak Pleven 97-88 away to get its tenth win. It was a close game for the whole time but in the end the visitors performed better when it mattered and took the victory.

Martin Durchev had 25 points and 8 rebounds for the winners as Nikola Maravic had 19 and 9.

Rilski Sportist didn′t play this weekend but remains second with 11-4 record. Levski Lukoil and Akademik both had 10-5 record and are tied for third place.
