Blokotehna leads all the way for win number 10
KK Blokotehna-NB recorded its tenth win in the regular season in SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. The Gevgelija team hosted BC Akademik Bultex 99 and took 80-71 victory after leading from start to finish. That means that the last game of Blokotehna against Rilski Sportist on March 14 will most likely be for the first position before the Final Four. Akademik in the same time now has 4-5 record and will fight for a better position in the playoffs which are now certain for them.
Blokotehna started very good the game and opened it with 12-2 run. The team continued to play well in offense in the next few minutes and took a 13-point lead in to the second period. In it the offense was clicking again and at the break the difference was 22 points. That was more than enough for Blokotehna who kept controlling the game and sealed another win. Akademik managed to close some of the gap but still never really threathened in the end.
Once again Dwayne Benjamin was the top scorer for the winners with 18 points. Danilo Mijatovic added 16 points as Cedrick Bowen had 15 against his former team.
Isiah Umipig scored 23 points for the visitors while Stanislav Vaklinov had 11 and 7 rebounds. Akademik played without Nikola Maravic, Martin Durchev and newly signed Aleksandar Gruev and that proved costly.
