Shay Shtriks: Final Four was a great basketball event

After the Final Four of SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League finished, here is what the Sports Director of the competition - Mr. Shay Shtriks had to say: 

"SiIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League Final Four is over and we have new champion BC Levski LUKOIL. During Saturday 14.04.2018 and Sunday 15.04.2018 we had a celebration of Basketball in Samokov. This was the 10th final games. This was professional, fair and correct Final Four the same way as we had from the first one in 2008.

We proved and we are proud that we created 10 seasons ago pure sports basketball project and the results and the games during the 10th Final Four provided to everybody great basketball event.

This is the place to send big thank you to BC Rilski Sportist management and to the very good people in Samokov who supported the event, helped us and made it possible. I am sure that all - Players, Coaches, Referees, Guests and basketball spectators were part of good and interesting games. We had strong games, interesting results and for sure very good officiating. This is the way which we have been supporting the basketball in the Balkan region, ONLY basketball which is clear of any politic and non-sport interests.

I am sorry that in the game for 3-4 place we had to face a very strong and non-sport behavior from the side of some players and the coach of KK Blokotehna. They could not accept the fact that basketball is ONLY a sport and no more. In the next few days the management will proceed according to the official regulations of the Balkan League.

I would like to thank again to BNT Sport department and the people that work all this weekend of the Final Four, broadcasting full 4 games during the weekend.   

It was great Basketball and Sports event and we do hope that in the future BIBL will continue to provide good, professional and strong basketball competition in the Balkan Region, with full cooperation with the federations and FIBA. Up to the end of May the full details of BIBL season 2018-19 will be introduced and published.   

Now comes the time to enjoy the strong and interesting games in the local leagues. I would like to wish to all the clubs that participated in BIBL good luck and as we say already 10 seasons - MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN!"
