KS Teuta made a decisive step towards qualifying for the Final Four in the Balkan League. The Albanian side defeated BC Barsy Atyrau for second time in a row after winning 81-76 in its gym in Durres. This contest counted as a home game for the Kazakhstan team and once again offered us an interesting end. It wasn′t as dramatic as the one four days ago but still the winner had to be decided in the last two minutes. After that victory Teuta stands at 5-3 record and is in a great position to finish in the Top 4 positions in the Regular season. In the meantime Barsy now has 1 wins and 5 defeats and will have a difficult task in reaching that goal. Next week Teuta will travel to Prizren to play Bashkimi while in the last week of January Barsy will have another set of games, this time against Academic Bultex 99, Beroe and Blokotehna.

After a slow start for both teams Teuta managed to pull away by 6 points but Barsy closed the first quarter on a 5-0 run to close the gap. In the second the game continued to be close but near the end of it the Kazakhs went on a good run. They went on an 11-2 run to go up by 8 points and at the break were up by 7.

Thanks to a good start of the second half Teuta managed to tie the score and then the teams start exchanging points. The Albanians however finished the third quarter with 6 straight points to be up by 4 after 30 minutes. Barsy managed to take the lead less than three minutes in to the last period but Teuta responded quickly. They scored the next 7 points to regain the advantage and not only that but with two minutes to play went up by 6. That was the decisive moment as Barsy couldn′t overcome the difference and eventually lost.

CJ Wilson was the top performer for the winners with 28 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists while Endrit Hysenagolli also had a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Eric Copes performed good with 17 points and 8 rebounds.

Barsy was led by Dmitriy Klimov who finished with 16 points. Aragad Abramian and Akradiy Mrktychyan also did well by adding 15 points each.
