Domestic leagues: Two wins and a new players for Barsy Atyrau

BC Barsy Atyrau recorded two away wins in Kazakhstan league. The team visited Sinegoryie in two straight days and managed to win both matches.

 

Barsy took 89-71 victory in the first contest. The team started bad and was down by 11 points after one quarter. A 43 points in the second however allowed the team to go up by 19 points and to control the match after.

 

Dmitriy Klimov was the top scorer for the win with 17 points while Bojan Bakic added 15.

 

Barsy won the second match 91-73 but this time the things were differente. The Atyrau team started well and won the first two quarter to build a big enough 24-point advantage. The hosts cut it by 8 points with a good third quarter but never really had any chance for a comeback.

 

Bojan Bakic was the top performer in this contest with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Akradiy Mkrtychyan and Vladimir Ivanov also did well scoring 13 points apiece.

 

Barsy currently sits in 4th position in the standings with 9 wins and 7 defeats so far. The team will visit Almaty this week and then will travel to Bulgaria for its third set of games in the Balkan League.

 

In the meantime Barsy Atyrau made a change to its roster. The new name is Chris Mceachin who is coming to replace Montrell Dixson. The forward started the season in French side Rochelais and had averages of 11.9 points and 4.0 rebounds in 10 games.
