KK Blokotehna is a step closer to the Final Four in the Balkan League. The Gevgelija side took its 5th win of the season after beating BC Barsy Atyrau 85-72 at home. A strong second quarter was the key moment of the contest as the hosts pulled away in those ten minutes and then controlled the difference.

With the result Blokotehna now has 5-2 record and is in a great position to go to the Final Four. In order for that not to happen the team needs to lose four of its five last games and Kozuv to win its remaining five contest with the one against Blokotehna by over 20 points. As for Barsy, the record is now 1-8 and the team has no chance of reaching the Final 4.

It was an even first quarter as both sides exchanged points with Blokotehna leading but not by much. It finished with 2 points difference and the visitors took a single-point lead after scoring a triple early in the second quarter. The hosts however then went on an 11-0 to go up by double-digits which later eached even 19 points. At the break the margin was 15 and in the second half the hosts controlled the game. The third quarter finished with 10 points difference as Barsy did well in the final minutes of it and near the middle of the last one cut the deficit to just 7. That however was the most they could do as Blokotehna again pulled away and recorded the victory.

Danilo Mijatovic was the top scorer for the winners with 24 points adding also 9 rebounds. Goran Glavchev also did well by scoring 20 points as Brandon Penn had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Bojan Bakic was above all for the visitors finishing with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Chris McEachin added 17 points as Donte McGill scored 11.
