Hapoel Jerusalem stays unbeaten in Group D Blatt had 15 points and 7 assists for the win

Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem remains unbeaten in Group D after downing Hapoel Altshuler Shaham Be′er Sheva 90-77 at home. The hosts led throughout and were in control of the game for most of the time. Near the end of the first half the visitors came back and then in the second were trying to mount a comeback but Hapoel Jerusalem never gave them a chance. After that result Hapoel Be′er Sheva is now with two defeats from two games and will try to get its first win on Sunday when visiting Maccabi Rishon LeZion.

 

Thanks to an 8-0 run the hosts managed to break a tie and pull away early in the game. They continued to have the lead after that as it reached 10 points just before the end of the first quarter but a triple by Sutt set the margin at 7 after ten minutes. In the second Jerusalem seemed to be in control but the visiting side wasn′t giving up. In the middle of the quarter they even tied the score and after the teams exchanged baskets, at the break the difference was just 2 points in favour of the home side. Hapoel Jerusalem managed to come out on top thanks to a smart play in the second half. The team was controlling its advantage and answering every attempt for a comeback by the visiting side. The hosts were certainly more aggressive and that proved to make a difference at the end.


Suleiman Braimoh was the top performer for the winners with 18 points and 7 rebounds as Malcolm Hill also did well by adding 17 points.

 

Caleb Agada and Eric Griffin were the top scorers for the visitors with 13 points apiece but eventually that wasn′t enough for their team.
