Rilski Sportist (the same team that took the place of Strumica right before the start of Eurohold Balkan League) managed to win Group B of the competition. In a dramatic game away in Skopje against Fersped Rabotnicki tonight the Bulgarian team won 92-87 and deserved to be on the top of the standings. After this win Rilski Sportist has 6 wins and 2 losses and in the 1/4 finals will play the fourth placed team in the other group - Radnicki 034 Group or Euroins Cherno More. If the Bulgarians defeat Feni at home tomorrow Radnicki will be Rilski`s opponent. But if Feni wins then we`ll witness a Bulgarian derby in the 1/4 finals of the first edition of the Eurohold Balkan League.

The team of Rabotnicki will have to look for a win in two days time against Mega Hypo Leasing in order to finish second in the group and to play against the third team from the other one.

The game started in an even way and with 1`42`` to go in the first quarter after Danilo Mitrovic scored Fersped Rabotnicki went ahead 19-17. Then Rilski Sportist scored the next 7 points and won the first period 19-24. In those first 10 minutes Dragoslav Papic showed he would have a good game as he already had 10 points and 5 rebounds.

In the middle of the second quarter the guards of Rilski Sportist sparked a run that gave their team a first double digit lead, 25-35. The hosts didn`t have a good percentage from the three-point arc as they did in the Levski game and that caused them trouble in the first half. With a minute and a half to go Rabotnicki cut the deficit to only 5 points but two three-pointers, one by Peterson and one by Mirkovic, gave the visitors a good lead at the break, 35-46.

Rilski Sportist continued to mantain the same margin but in the second half ot the third quarter the Bulgarians allowed the hosts to start playing good. With some nice defense Rabotnicki had a run of 4-13 to tie the score at 63-63 before the last 10 minutes.

Dime Tasovski even put them ahead scoring the first basket of the last quarter but then a run of three straight baskets by Mirkovic, Lilov (a 3-pointer) and Mirkovic made the score 65-70. In those minutes Lilov made two important steals, Mirkovic was playing without mistakes and Papic was scoring at will. Then after Peterson scored two free throws Rilski Sportist once again took a double-digit lead, 72-82. The hosts then made a run of 7-0 for 79-82 with a little more that two minutes to play.

Then Mirkovic was fouled while shooting a three-pointer and scored all 3 of his free throws. Lilov made a steal and a dunk and Rilski took a 79-87 lead with exactly two minutes to go. In the last minute the hosts cut it to a single point (86-87) but then Mirkovic and Peterson scored both of their free throws to make the final score 87-92 and give their team the first place in the group.

Papic finished the game with 24 points and 11 rebounds, making four three-pointers. Mirkovic added 21 points and 4 assists while Travis Peterson was once again one of the most valuable players for his team with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Lilov also played very well and finished with 18 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Bulgarian team had a very good percentage from the three-point line (10/22 for 45 %) and from the free throw line (20/24 for 83 %).

For Rabotnicki Tasovski finished with 20 points, Simic added 17 while Trajkovski had 14.
