Ferpsed Rabotnicki ? Euroins Cherno More (Game 2 preview)
Fersped is 16 points down before game 2
Four decisive games in Eurohold Balkan League will be played this week. Three of them will determine the first participants of the Final Four while the last one will be the start of quarterfinal series between two Serbian sides Mega Hypo Leasing and Swisslion Takovo.
Tonight at 19.00 o’clock local time in Skopje Fersped Rabotnicki is facing Euroins Cherno More in first of two Macedonian/Bulgarian quarterfinal derbies. Team from Varna is holding 16 points first leg advantage after comfortable win at home week ago. However today the game will take place in Gradski Park arena in Skopje and Macedonian team will be the one to push the tempo.
Fersped Rabotnicki won all but one regular season at home. The only loss came against another Bulgarian squad Rilski Sportist and cost them winning Group B. Despite that fact they finished second and will play second leg in front of their own fans. The double digit in Varna was their biggest of the season in Eurohold Balkan League. Until the chances are alive there will be no giving up from of the best teams in the history of basketball in Macedonia. They won another derby game but in local league last weekend. Thanks to the characteristic very good shooting from outside the arc, Fersped Rabotnicki beat city rival MZT 93-72 for 15th win of the season. Left handing shooting guard Dime Tasovski had 16 points while Bojan Trajkovski ended with 14 in only 10 minutes spent on the court in the game.
Bulgarian side Euroins Cherno More used 12-0 run at the end to defeat Spartak Pleven 87-76 in Varna. The win was their 8 for the year in Bulgarian league and first at home against Spartak. So far they played three games in domestic competition versus this team and that was the first home win in the season series between them. One more time Corey McIntosh led Euroins Cherno More with 17 points. Simeon Tsenov added with 14 points while Dusan Koutsoupoulus had 9 and 7 rebounds. Once again Badnjarevic used youngster Vasil Kyosev in the starting lineup, same like he did last week versus Fersped Rabotnicki in game one of the series.
Important win is giving opportunity for Predrag Badnjarevic team to fight for better position before the playoffs in Bulgaria. The game in Varna was a warm up versus same opponent in quarterfinal of Cup of the country which will take place in Pleven next week. However now the players of Euroins Cherno More are concentrate on the rematch in Skopje in order to get among the best four teams in BIBL.
The winner of the match between Fersped Rabotnicki and Euroins Cherno More will play against the winner of Mega Hypo Leasing-Swisslion Takovo game in one of the two semifinals of the Euorhold Balkan League Final Four.
