Samokov - host of the Final Four of Eurohold Balkan League

The city of Samokov will host the Final Four of the first edition of Eurohold Balkan League. This event will be held on 24 and 25 of March in "Arena Samokov". Earlier today the Sports Director of the league Shay Shtriks had a meeting with the main sponsor and chairman of Eurohold Asen Hristov. They decided that offer made by the Bulgarian participant and the conditions proposed were by far the best for this stage of such a good competition such is opening season of the Eurohold Balkan league. After their meeting is confirmed that Samokov will host the Final Four for this season 2008/09.

The final stages of the competion will see four teams - the two Macedonian sides Feni Industries and Fersped Rabotnicki, the Serbian Mega Hypo Leasing and Bulgarian Rilski Sportist.

"Arena Samokov" has 2500 seats and is the most modern hall for basketball in Bulgaria. During basketball games up to 3000 people may enter the hall. The main field is up to all requirements by FIBA for a competition of the highest rank.

For the construction have been invested more than 8 million euros. This hall can be used for 25 types of sporting events. It was open back in march 2008 by the president of Bulgaria Georgi Parvanov during HDI All-Star game.

The hall in Samokov has one of the most modern electronic boards for basketball games. The board has all the necessery functions for a basketball matches and the audience can easily follow all the statistics of the players during the games.

In the first day of the event will be played the two semifinals. Feni Industries vs. Fersped Rabotnicki and Rilski Sportist vs. Mega Hypo Leasing. In the second day the losers will play for 3/4 place while the winners will meet in the final for the first champion of Eurohold Balkan League.

Next week the board of the league will make more announcements regarding the competition and list of special guests will visit it.
