International tournament starting in Samokov today

International basketball tournament, named "45 Years Samel" is starting today in Samokov. The participating teams are in Group "A": Rilski Sportist, KK Pirot (Serbia) and Levski Sofia. In Group "B" are the Bulgarian champion Lukoil Academic, AEK Larnaka (Cyprus) and Feni Industries (FYR of Macedonia). All the games will be held at Arena Samokov.
 
The president of the hosts from Rilski Sportist - Petar Georgiev said for the media:
"It`s really hard to do such things in our days. But we decided this year to organize such tournament at the club level. There hasn`t been a tournament like that in Bulgaria in a long time. We have invited good teams - both Bulgarian and foreign, and we also hope that this event will become a tradition."
