Today in Yambol started the 9th edition of the annual tournament "Petar Maystorov". This year the participants are only Bulgarian clubs - the hosts from Yambol, along with three participants in the Eurohold Balkan League - Euroins Cherno More, Spartak Pleven and Levski. Spartak Pleven are the defending champions as last year they won the 8th edition of the tourney.
 
The opening game was between the teams of Euroins Cherno More and Spartak Pleven. Darin Velikov`s side won in a close encounter, as the final score was 97:96 for Spartak. 40 minutes weren`t enough for both sides to have a winner, so after 88:88 in regular time, a 9:8 score for Spartak in the additional 5 minutes sealed their win.
 
Iliya Stankov showed his great shooting ability, scoring 23 points. Hrisimir Dimitrov played on his usual high level, finishing with 13 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Alexander Dyakovski added 16 points and 5 assists.
 
For Cherno More the team captain Simeon Tsenov scored 25 points. The new American point guard Eric Webb added 17 points, along with 10 rebounds and 4 assists and youngster Vasil Kyosev finished with 15 points.
 
In the second game of the first day, Levski faced the hosts from Yambol surprisingly overcame Levski with a score of 92:83. Local favorite Dimitar Angelov was the top scorer for the winners with 19 points, while Stanislav Govedarov added 17. The team`s latest addition Zlatko Gocevski came with 15 points off the bench.
 
Vassil Evtimov scored 18 for Levski, and Aaron Harper added 16. Stefan Georgiev saw his first playing action after being injured and scored 11 points.
 
Tomorrow Levski is facing Cherno More at 17.00, and two hours later is the game between the two teams with wins after the first day - Yambol and Spartak Pleven.
