Levski loses again, Cherno More grab a win

Levski
suffered their second loss at the “Petar Maystorov” tournament in
Yambol. Today Konstantin Papazov’s side lost against Euroins Cherno
More with a score of 96:92. That was also Cherno More’s first win at
the tournament.
 
Levski
started the game better, and were up 11 after 10 minutes – 16:27, but Cherno
More took the difference down to 5 at halftime – 45:50. They played really
strong in the third period, and after 33:21, they were up 78:71 before the
closing quarter. In the last 10 minutes, the only thing Levski managed to do is
lose the game with a smaller difference, as the final score was 96:92 for
Cherno More.
 
Eric Webb
played another strong game for the team from Varna. The American played 36 minutes and
scored 31 points, along with 4 assists and 6 rebounds. Krum Doychinov scored 18
points and Pavels Veselovs added 15. Alexander Yanev played good off the bench,
finishing with 7 points and 10 rebounds.
 
Asen
Velikov was the top scorer for Levski with 23 points. Donald Cole added 22,
while Pavel Ivanov was the last player to finish in double digits, scoring 11.
 
In the
second game today, Yambol
continued to be undefeated after two games. The home side won against Spartak
Pleven with 83:78 and has the biggest chance of winning the trophy. Ivan
Cholakov’s side started really strong, and was up by 10 points halfway through.
In the second half, Spartak woke up, and was close to a turnaround, but in the
end, Yambol were victorious.
 
Dimitar
Angelov had a good game for Yambol,
scoring 17 points, along with 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Stanislav Govedarov
added 13 points, and Pavel Marinov had 11 for the win. Michael Earl scored 10
in just 15 minutes of action.
 
For
Spartak, Hrisimir Dimitrov was the best as usual. The veteran scored 19 points,
combined with 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Rob Preston had a good game also,
scoring 17 points and getting 7 rebounds.
