Levski started the 2009/2010 season in the Eurohold Balkan League with a dramatic 90:88 win over Feni Industries Kavadarci in Universiada Hall. The game was played in front of 1500 spectators, and before the tip-off, the president of Eurohold Bulgaria Asen Hristov had a short speech.

During almost the whole game, the score was tied, and there were quite a few changes in the lead. After 30 minutes of play the score was even - 66:66. Less than 6 minutes before the final buzzer, Levski managed to get ahead with 8 points - 79:71, and probably "The Blues" already had the victory in their minds. But it was early for celebration, as Feni striked back, with an impressive 10 to nothing run, to find theirselves ahead 79:81 with less than 5 minutes remaining. The game continued to be close until there were 6.2 seconds left on the clock. After a Levski time-out, the home side inbounded the ball really well, and Pavel Ivanov found himself open against the basket, and there was nothing left for the youngster to do but score - 90:88. Feni had a last chance to win, or tie the game with 1.2 seconds left, but Vlado Popovic missed a long-range jumper with the buzzer, so the final score was 90:88 in Levski`s favor.

Aaron Harper had an impressive official debut, scoring 19 points. The team captain Stefan Georgiev started the game a bit slow, but at the end he had 20 points and 8 rebounds. Asen Velikov gave a solid performance, before eventually fouling out late in the fourth, as he finished with 14 points.

Slobodan Mihajlovski was the main man for Feni, as he achieved a respectful double-double - 18 points and 20 rebounds. Ognjen Stojanovski and Vlado Popovic added 16 points each.

In their next game, on November 11th Levski are visiting OKK Beograd, while Feni are traveling to Bucharest to face Steaua Turabo.

The other games from the 1st round are going to be played on October 14th and October 21st.
