Euroins Cherno More started theyr participation in the Eurohold
Balkan League in the best possible way. "The Sailors" overcame KK
Metalac Valjevo 85:73 in front of 1000 spectators in the Cultur and
Sports Palace in Varna.
 
The game started better for the guests from Serbia, who were up 17:21 after 10 minutes of play.
 
In
the second period, Daniel Dimitrov`s team managed to play better, and
had a comfortable 36:30 lead at halftim, after a 19:9 turnaround in the
second period.
 
Cherno More were off the a flying start
of the third period, as their 10 to nothing run gave them a dominating
16-point lead - 46:30. Their strong play continued, and late in the
third they were up 55:33. After 30 minutes of play, Cherno More were up
67:48.
 
In the final period, Metalac tried to turn
things around, as they took down their losing to 13 points (66:79), but
that`s all they were capable of today. In the end, the final score was
85:73 for Euroins Cherno More, who definitely made their fans happy
today.
 
Eric Webb, Cherno More`s only American this
season had a great game with 24 points 8 rebounds, and 6 assists, even
though he commited 6 turnovers. Pavels Veselovs added 15 points, and
Tihomir Zhelev had 11 for Cherno More`s first win in the league this
season.
 
For the team from Valjevo Dragomir Marojevic had 22 points and 13 rebounds, and Marko Ljuboevic added 14 points with 8 boards.
 
Metalac
dominated the rebounds - 41 to 28, but Cherno More compensated,
shooting great from long range, as Daniel Dimitrov`s team scored 43% of
their attempts for three points - 13 from 28.
