Levski lost away from home at "Pionir" Hall in Beograd against the
local side OKK Beograd in the second round of the EUROHOLD Balkan Leagu
after overtime with the final score of 103:100 .
 
The
game started better for the Bulgarian team, and halfway through the
first period, Levski were up 7:14. OKK immediately striked back, with a
6:0 run, to melt the difference to only 1 point - 13:14 with 3 and a
half minutes left. After that "the Blues made a 12:3 run, before OKK
scored a late three to make the score 18:26 after 10 minutes.
 
In
the begining of the second period, Levski continued the good play from
the first quarter, but that quickly changed, as OKK made their way back
into the game, after some good plays by Milos Suzic. Around 4 minutes
before halftime, Dragan Mitrovic scored 2 free-throws to make his
team`s losing only 1 point - 34:35. After that things turned around
completely, and OKK led at the break 46:45.
 
After
halftime OKK Beograd quickly increased the lead to 50:45. Pavel Ivanov
had a great impact off the bench, and after good plays by him and
Donald Cole Levski were up 56:60 3 minutes before the end of the third.
After a three-pointer from Donald Cole Levski led it 66:70 after 30
minutes.
 
The closing quarter started well for Levski,
as after 1.30 minutes of play a three by Asen Velikov gave his side a
70:76 lead. Levski was leading during the whole fourth quarter.
Konstantin Papazov`s side were leading 90:88 less than 40 seconds until
the end. Aaron Harper went to the line with 27 seconds left but only
scored one free-throw, and immediately after that OKK scored a
three-pointer to tie it up at 91, which was the final score in regular
time.
 
In the extra five minutes of overtime, OKK
Beograd started better, and were up 94:93 after one minute. Donald Cole
tied the game at 96 with a dunk, and Pavel Ivanov gave Levski the lead
- 98:96. Another basket by Cole took Levski ahead with 4 - 100:96 with
1.40 minutes left. The game was tied at 100:100 with 1.20 left. OKK
were leading 102:100 with 47 seconds on the clock, and after that
Donald Cole missed two free-throws. Aaron Harper made a traveling
violation 2 seconds before the end, and that was the final, as the
score was 103:100 for OKK Beograd.
 
Donald Cole scored
28 for Levski, while Aaron Harper and Stefan Georgiev added 19 each.
Bobby Frasor had 10 and Asen Velikov added 9.
 
For OKK
Beograd Nikola Lepojevic scored 28. Dragan Krusic and Dragan Mitrovic
were the other two players to score 20 or more - 24 and 20. Branko
Andzic finished with 16, and Milos Suzic with 10.
