Tomorrow in Medias, Romania, the local Gaz Metan will meet Macedonian champion Rabotnicki in the first game of the third round of EUROHOLD BIBL 2009/2010 season. Romanian team started season in a perfect way, as they made a 10 wins and only 1 lose record ( 8-1 in the Romanian Division A and 2:0 in the Balkan League ). Yesterday Gaz Metan destroyed other Romanian participant in EUROHOLD Balkan League CSA Steaua Turabo with 94-67 and stayed on the second place. For Medias`s side came back young Romanian prospect Titus Nicoara, after he missed the game against Bulgarian runner-up Euroins Cherno More. Nicoara finished with 14 points (7/7 for 2 points), 6 rebounds and 2 blocks for 28 minutes on the court.
In the summer Macedonian champion Rabotnicki was going through hard financial situation and as result the management of the club could decide to withdraw from current edition of EUROHOLD BIBL. But Rabotnicki found the solutions for their financial problems and they are now back in the game. Now the team counts on Macedonian national players - Dimitar Mirakovski and Gjorgj Cekovski - two of the most efficient players in the Balkan league this season, and Aleksandar Dimitrovski. All other players are under 20 years old. Last week Rabotnicki lost
dramatically to Montenegrin Lovcen Cetinje in Skopje 102-108 after overtime. Dimitar Mirakovski was magnificiant, scoring a total of 42 points (9/13 from three-point lane), while Gjorgji Cekovski added 27 along with 11 rebounds and 4
assists. In Macedonian Superleague, reigning champions are on third place with
5-3 balance, as they took an away victory on Saturday against Plejmejker 91-80. Cekovski was unstoppable again with 32 points, 14 boards and 4 assists.
The game between CS Gaz Metan Medias and Rabotnicki Skopje will start tomorrow, 17 november at 18:00 and will be on RNT.
