Euroins Cherno More beats Spartak Pleven, Rilski Sportist also with win

        Euroins Cherno More achieved third win in Bulgarian National Basketball League. In “Hristo Borisov” hall in Varna, they beat another Bulgarian participant in EUROHOLD BIBL Spartak (Pleven) with 92:73. The hosts played a very good first quarter. Cherno More were the more active team and gradually increased their lead, which 4 minutes before the end of the period was 7 points - 17:10. At the end of the part, however,  Daniel Dimitrov’s players allowed the guests to reduce the
result by 1 point - 25:24. In the second quarter Cherno More scored 8 unanswered points and took the lead with 34:26. Varna’s side excellent play continued and their advance grew to 14 points in 47:33. Before the break the hosts were ahead by 13. The third quarter was challenged by many errors in the shooting of both teams. In the middle of the period Spartak  reduced its liabilities by 9 points  55:46, butbefore the final quarter the score was 65:52 for Euroins Cherno More. Last ten minutes allowed the hosts to increased the lead and 3 minutes before the end, they were ahead by 22 – 85:63. Vasil Kyosev was the best scorer in the game, as he nailed 24 points. Zhelev added 14 points and  7 assists, while Yanev finished with 17 points ans 5 boards for the home side. Joe Kennerly made a double-double 14 points and 13 rebounds, while Iliya Stankov added 14 points and 7 boards in the losing case.
        One round before the end of the first stage of the National Basketball League, Rilski Sportist also won their game, after they beat quite expected the newcomer Chernomorets Burgas in Samokov with 96-85 and successfully finished the week. On Wednesday Rilski Sportist attained first win this year in EUROHOLD BIBL over Euroins Cherno More. Travis Peterson played his best game this season and achieved a 29 index, enough to be first in the rankings for the best player (MVP) of the round in the NBL. The American scored 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds
in his second straight game in the league, finished with double-double this season. Team captain Alexander Gruev continues to show excellent form despite his injury. Today he led his team with 23 points and 8 assists, scoring 4 three pointers. Boev also finished with 23 points (5 threes). The overall shooting percentage of the team from the three point line was 52 - 11 of  21. Good match for David Burgess - 17 points and 11 rebounds, he made second double-double in NBL this season.
      Great game for the guests from Burgas played the young Martin Durchev, who was the best scorer on the field with 28 points. Dwayne Morton added 20 points and 11 rebounds (second double-double this year) and Atanas Penev and Bruce Brown finished with 14 points. Penev snatched and 5 rebounds and 3 assists, while Brown grabbed 6 boards in the losing effort.
