Sportist, the EUROHOLD Balkan League Champions made a transfer bomb.
One of the best guards, played in Bulgaria, is back again in again in
the country, anounced Gong.bg . Former player of Lukoil Academic Lamont Jones will join Rilski Sportist next week. He
has to clamp suitcases and Bulgaria in Sofia are expected early next
week to strengthen the team from Samokov. Jones is expected to come in
Bulgaria in the beginning of the next week, to reinforce the team from
Samokov. Rilski Sportist has a lot of problems with point guard position from the beginning of the season, as the only constant player in the post was the captain Alexander Gruev. A few days ago, coach Alexander Todorov released another disappointment - Dejan Dunovic and therefore had seen a new playmaker in the face of Lamont Jones.
37 years old Jones spent three seasons at Lukoil Academic, and was the key of the league titles won in that period. In his three season with Lukoil in the European club competitions, "The Professor" appeared in 32 games, averaging 15.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists. Before arriving in Bulgaria, Lamont played for Hapoel Jerusalem and Hapoel Galin Elyon in Israel. After leaving "students", he again returned to Israel, the homeland of his wife, and signed with the local Gilboa Afula. Last season Lamont Jones was in Cyprus, where he was an alternate SG of
Apollon Limassol, and again in January found a pier in Israel, the team of Irony Ramat Gan.
Lamont Jones is 183cm tall, known in Bulgaria with a fantastic vision on the court and perfect passes. The experienced PG will help Rilski Sportist to get over the problems, which pursued the team from the beginning of the season.
