Today in press club Universiada, BC Rilski Sportist Samokov had a press conference, as the participants were Petar Georgiev (president), Aleksandar Todorov (head coach), Aleksandar Gruev (captain), and Lamont Jones.
 
"We`ve been trying to make basketball in Samokov for a long time, but we started achieving something last season. Nobody expected us to win the Balkan League in March, and now our ambitions are even bigger. There aren`t accidental things here. From 20 years we`ve been going only up, as we have championships in all ages in the junior and girl categories. This Christmas we are celebrating with the signing of Lamont Jones, and I hope that we will have more happy moments after new year."
 
Head coach Aleksandar Todorov said for the media: "The year 2009 must be separated in two parts - the spring when we won the EUROHOLD Balkan League, and the fall - when we didn`t realize our full potential. We were underdogs last year and it was easier, but now everyone plays to the maximum against us. That`s the difference, and I want to say again, that this team is way much stronger than the one from last year, and everyone will see that soon."
 
"At this point we really aren`t showing what we can really do. In the next year 2010, I hope that the team will play much better, and I`m sure Lamont Jones will help us to do this. I hope that this could be the strongest season in the history of the club." added captain Aleksandar Gruev.
 
"It was relatively easy to take the decision to come back to Bulgaria, after I spent three good years with Lukoil Academic. Now with all the conditions in Samokov, and after the way they welcomed me, the only thing I have to worry about is basketball. The team has good players, but players like Aleksandar Gruev and Travis Peterson are a real treasure." said Lamont Jones.
