Domestic leagues overview Metalac winning again

Here is our weekly overview of the local championships in the Balkans.

 

Bulgaria:

 

Euroins Cherno More - Levski 75:93

 

Relatively easy victory on the road for Levski. Cherno More fans had high hopes, as the team management declared that they are expecting a win, but perhaps Levski was the better side. Aaron Harper led Levski with 27 points, and Donald Cole and Bobby Frasor added 15 and 12. For Cherno More Aleksandar Yanev and Hrisimir Dimitrov had 20 each.

 

Lukoil Academic - Rilski Sportist 91:68

 

The reigning EUROHOLD Balkan League champions suffered a heavy defeat away from home against Lukoil. Jane Petrovski and Aleksandar Gruev scored 20 points each, while the 6 other players that played combined for a total of 28. Pero Antic led Lukoil with 24.

 

Spartak Pleven - Chernomorec 81:70

 

Spartak achieved a much needed win, after the crisis they had going on in the last couple of weeks. Joe Kennerly led the team with a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds, while Veselin Georgiev came off the bench scoring 15 points.

 

Macedonia:

 

Ovce Pole - Feni Industries 82:93

 

A valuable win away from home for Feni Industries, as Emil Rajkovic`s squad overcame Ovce Pole. Dusan Knezevic scored 21 points, and Darko Sokolov and James Life added 15 and 14.

 

Rabotnicki - Torus 65:89

 

Rabotnicki continue to struggle, after they were left by their three best players. This time they suffered a heavy home defeat against Torus by 24 points - 65:89. Marko Simonovski scored 27 points, while Enes Hadzibulic added 15, as those two were the only ones to finish in double digits for Rabotnicki.

 

Montenegro:

 

Lovcen maintained on top of the standings, as they achieved their 11th win after they defeated Jedinstvo by 75:70. The other Montenegrin team, Mornar had a home game, and won easily by 20 points - 90:70 against BC Teodo Tivat. They are now third with a balance of 9-5.

 

Romania:

 

CSA Steua Turabo - Mures 81:74

 

Steaua are now on a 4-game winning streak in Romania, after they cruised over Mures by 81:74. Monty Mack led the team with his 24 points, while Bogdan Popescu and Anthony Myles scored 14 each. Alan Wiggins and Adrian Voinescu added 10 each for Steaua`s 10th win so far in the Romanian league.

 

Serbia:

 

Ergonom - Metalac 74:79

 

An important away win for KK Metalac, as they are now second, with a balance of 15 and 6. Nenad Kasabasic scored 17 points in this contest, while Marko Ljubojevic and Stefan Bircevic added 13 each. Two other players finished in double digits as well.

 

OKK Beograd - Mega Vizura 69:71

 

OKK suffered a home loss against the other team from Belgrade - Mega Vizura. Branko Andzic scored 15 points, and Dragan Kruscic and Dragan Mitrovic had 14 and 11, but that wasn`t enough for OKK to get the win, and they now are third with a balance of 14 and 7.
