Levski won the Cup of Bulgaria

In the Final 8 of the Bulgarian Cup, with a strong participation from EUROHOLD Balkan League teams, it was Levski who came out victorious in the last day of the competition.
Only Spartak Pleven weren`t able to go to the medal games, as they were knocked out in the 1/4 finals in the first day by Euroins Cherno More. The team from Varna won 76:68. Rilski Sportist made a true sensation, as they knocked out the powerhouse Lukoil Academic by 82:80. Levski won against the hosting Yambol 70:62, and Balkan was the last semifinalist after a 88:78 win over Chernomorec.
In the semifinals Levski outplayed Euroins Cherno More 95:76. The other finalist was the team of Rilski Sportist, who won against Balkan 80:75. Three participating teams in the EUROHOLD Balkan League were about to play in the medal games in the Cup.
Euroins Cherno More grabbed the bronze medals, after a 75:80 win in the 3/4 place game against Balkan. The youngster Aleksandar Yanev shined for his team with 34 points.
In the big final, Rilski Sportist was close to upsetting Levski, but in the end they lost 81:78. Aaron Harper of Levski was named MVP of the whole Bulgarian Cup tournament.
The final game was just a start of the games between Levski and Rileco. They play each other again in the first quarterfinal game in the EUROHOLD BIBL on Thursday, after that they play for the Bulgarian League on Saturday and they play in the BIBL again next week. News
