Lovcen to play in the Final Four in their BIBL debut
Win for Ivanovic and Lovcen
Lovcen Cetinje won the second quarterfinal game against Mornar Bar, by 8 points - 84:76 and will participate in the EUROHOLD Balkan League Final Four in their debut participation in the tournament.
Tonight in front of their home crowd, Miodrag Cadija`s team didn`t have much trouble defeating the other Montenegrin team who made their BIBL debut this year - Mornar Bar.
Mornar opened the score tonight, as Radoje Vujosevic scored for 0:2. Lopicic tied it at 4:4 after two made free-throws, and with 6:30 to go in the first, Lovcen led for the first time - 8:6. With 4 minutes until the end of the period, Petar Stojanovic made the score 15:10 in Lovcen`s favor. A three-pointer by Vladimir Mihailovic decreased the difference to just 2 points - 19:17. After 10 minutes, Lovcen were up by 7 - 25:18.
The second period started good for Lovcen, as after a three by Damjan Kandic they had their first double-digit lead in the game - 28:18. Withj 7:45 remaining until halftime, the difference was already 15 points - 35:20, after a basket by Vladimir Boricic. With 4:11 to go, Lovcen achieved their biggest lead so far - 18 points (44:26). The final score at halftime was settled at 50:34 after two free-throws by Mornar`s Vasilije Seferovic.
Mornar definitely wanted to change the way things were going, and started the second half strong. With 8:33 to go, they have already decreased their losing to 10 points - 50:40. Lovcen didn`t let anything more happen, as after a dunk by Nikola Ivanovic with less than 4 minutes to go, they were up by 15 points - 60:45. After 30 minutes, the home side were up by 12 points - 66:54.
In the last period, nothing changed, Lovcen continued to maintain a double-digit lead, and in the final second of the game, a basket by Aleksandar Dobrovic from Mornar made the final score 84:76 - 8 points more for Lovcen Cetinje.
Dejan Kandic played his best game for Lovcen so far, scoring 24 points.He also had 7 rebounds. Aleksa Popovic had a good game too, despite his 7 turnovers, finishing with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Bojan Dubljevic was the last player to score in double digits as he had 10 points. All of the Lovcen players who played today managed to score 5 or more points.
Milos Djurisic was the top scorer for Mornar Bar. He finished the game with 16 points. Vasilije Seferovic added 14, and Soumaila Samake finished with 12. Radovan Pesic added 11.
Lovcen are going to play with Feni Industries in the semifinals of the EUROHOLD Balkan League Final Four, as according to the regulations, if two teams from the same country qualify (in this case Bulgaria) they have to play with each other.
