Mr. Assen Hristov and Mr. Shay Shtriks were guests at the Israeli Winner League Final 4

The Executive Director of EUROHOLD Balkan League Mr. Assen Christov together with the Sports Director and his partner Mr. Shay Shtriks visited Israel last week. They were guests at the Final Four of the WINNER League, where Mr. Shtriks was commissioner as well. This Final Four will stay always in the history of the Israeli basketball as Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv were beaten by Galil Gilboa in the final for the second time after 1993 when Mr. Shay Shtriks himself was officiating that game.
During the visit lots of meetings with important basketball people in Israel took place and there were discussions about the development of the BIBL in the future. Moreover, some marketing ideas from the WINNER League will be taken as an example and will be implemented in the BIBL from the next season.
 
Mr. Christov and Mr. Shtriks met the coach and scout Daniel Gutt who is creator and owner of one of the most accurate and professional companies for basketball scouting and statistics in Europe – Scout2Win Ltd. There is an idea these basketball scouting and statistics services to be adopted by the EUROHOLD Balkan League and from season 2010-2011 to be presented to the attention of the teams. This will highly influence the preparation and performance of each team and thus the level of the basketball will improve significantly.
 
Mr. Christov used that opportunity to present to Daniel Gutt the project of Euroins Cherno More and the basketball Academy in Varna as well as the possibility Dani Gutt to be involved in this project as a head coach of the Senior team and support the development of the Junior’s department. Daniel Gutt is a former Israeli player who after finishing his player’s carrier went to the coaches area. Gutt is a student of the big names of the Israeli basketball – Pini Gershon, David Blatt and Tzfika Sherf. He was in four consequent years assistant coach of Blatt in the Russian National Team, then Neven Spahija, Renato Pascuali and Tzfika Sherf. During season 2008-2009 Gutt was Director of Scouting in Maccabi Tel Aviv and 2009-2010 head coach of Maccabi Ramat Gan in Israel.
Daniel Gutt has the strong recommendations from his two masters – Pini Gershon and David Blatt. The head coach of “Sbornaya” met Mr. Christov as well and declared he was ready to be consulter and to help with experience and knowledge for the development of the Basketball Academy in Varna and the talented children playing there as well as the young coaches. He was impressed by what was done in Varna and by the cooperation between the Israeli Academy and Cherno More, but he agreed the hard work should continue in the future as well.
