Rilski Sportist - club with traditions in Bulgaria

After that yesterday we presented you the champion from the last season - BC Levski, today is turn to the winner of the first edition of EUROHOLD Balkan League - Rilski Sportist. In March 2009 the team achieved club greatest success after winning the title in the first season of the Balkan League. In the Final Four, which was hosted in Samokov, the team achieved the memorable wins against Mega Hypo Leasing and Macedonian Fershped Rabotnicki.
    
        Rilski Sportist had a variable last season, as they finished 5th in the regular season in Bulgarian NL and lost to Levski in the final of Bulgarian Cup.
        Again Levski was the team, which eliminated Rilski Sportist in the EUROHOLD Balkan League quarter-finals. Team from Samokov played excellent first game at home, winning by 14 points - 89-75. In the second leg Levski was absolutely clinical, smashed the former champions in Universiada hall by 25 points - 109-84.
      
        The most important move in the transfers about the club is that Rilski best player in the last 2 seasons, all-time Balkan League MVP - Travis Peterson. 208cm tall American center decide to join Bulgarian champion Lukoil Academic. It is sure that in club will stay the captain Aleksandar Gruev (member of Bulgarian National team ) and all young players - Stanislav Vaklinov, Krasimir Georgiev, Lubomir Kirov and Dimitar Morunov.
