Atanas Radev leaves Balkan for Rilski Sportist.
Rilski Sportist acquired their first new player for the upcoming 2010/2011 season. After Travis Peterson left for Lukoil Academic, Rileco signed Balkans power forward Atanas Radev to replace him.
In his career in Bulgaria he has played for Cherno More, Spartak MVR and Balkan, as in the green club he played for the last three seasons, winning the silver medals in NBL two years ago, the gold medals in A Group last season and the bronze medals this season in NBL.
He was also Balkans captain last season. His stats last season were 12.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.8 steasl and 0.6 blocks for 38 games, including 35 starts. The 202-cm tall forward shot 58% for 2 points and 73% from the free-throw line.
"Yes, its true that Im leaving Balkan. Im going to sign with Rilski Sportist for two seasons. The conditions and terms are better, but I dont want to discuss particular reasons for me leaving Balkan" Radev said.
The player is currently with the Bulgarian National team preparing for the upcoming qualifications for Eurobasket 2011.
