Adam Constantine - making his overseas debut

Among all of Rilski Sportist’s new players – the name of Adam Constantine probably seems the most interesting one for the basketball fans and the followers of the EUROHOLD Balkan League. The 22-year old American was kind to find some time and tell us more about himself, about basketball, Rilski Sportis, the BIBL and Bulgaria and his first impressions.Adam Constantine was born on August 10th 1988. He played high school basketball in his native state of North Carolina, and commited to playing college basketball at Elon University. The 206-cm tall forward spent all four years at the university, averaging 6.5 points and 5.4 rebounds over 113 games, including 78 starts.His senior year was the best one for him, as he was a started and achieved 12.1 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks, shooting 59% from the field.
Q: How long have you been playing basketball?
Adam: I started playing basketball at the age of 5, but in the begining I wasn’t that interested. Things got more serious when I was in middle school.
Q: What do you expect from your first season as a pro ball player overseas?
A: My expectations are very open. The first thing I want to do is win. I love to win and I love working with my teammates to win. I want to be a successful basketball player that Rilski Sportist can be proud of.
Q: Did you know anything about Bulgaria and the Balkan League before signing with Rilski?
A: I did not know much about Bulgaria or the Balkan league but I did alot of research before I came over and I am enjoying it very much.
Q: Rilski Sportist won the EUROHOLD Balkan League back in 2009, and now looks like a serious contender with 7 new players, including you, are you excited?
A: Anytime that I am on a team that can contend to win a championship is so exciting. It makes me work that much harder because if we are that close already if I work harder I can push us to the top of our league.
Q: One last question, what does Adam Constantine enjoy doing off the basketball court?
A: Outside of basketball I love to explore and meet new people. I have been really enjoying the people around the town of Samokov and Bulgarians in general. I also absolutely love to watch movies. Back in the states I was my universitys film critic and I would review all new movies that came out. I also love playing video games. My favorite thing out of all is making people laugh. I believe that laughter is one of the truest ways to get to know somebody. So after you read this if you see me around please come say hello!!!
