Dear basketball friends,

We are facing the beginning of the new 2010-2011 season of EUROHOLD Balkan League. After 2 years, I am quite proud to say that the in its third edition the League already consists of 7 countries – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Romania. This means only one thing – the basketball on
the Balkans is interesting, countries and clubs want to develop and the Balkan League is the competition providing them exactly what they need and like. Our cooperation and collaboration with the local Federations and FIBA Europe has been very successful and I am sure it will continue in the same way and even will grow better and better.

During the previous 2 seasons we have been keeping the strategy together with the Federations to have as participants young and motivated teams with combination of talented young players and older experienced ones and I may say it proved to be successful and impressive. This season the fans of the basketball game will have again such combination of tied and unpredictable games until their end.

And here it comes the good news for all the basketball-lovers – all the games from the regular season, play-offs and final four – will be transmitted LIVE in the i-net in 29 European countries, including Israel; South Africa through our partners from SportMedia TV. In the future 3-4 months the service will be expanded to USA, Canada or in other words - worldwide. Moreover, around 70% of the games will be broadcast on the TV. Thus, EUROHOLD Balkan League will become much more popular and will reach to the sports audience at destinations never being thought about in the past.

This year the Opening game will take place in our new member country – Croatia where the team of KK Svjetlost Brod will host the event. Let’s wish them and their opponents from OKK Beograd good luck in the game and during all the year.

As Sports Director of EUROHOLD Balkan League and on behalf of all the management behind the curtains, I would like to wish the participants, Federations, partners and sponsors a very successful and pleasant new season not only in our competition but in their national championships as well.
