Aleksandar Todorov, Rilski Sportists head coach and 2009 BIBL champion was kind to answer some of our questions right before the departure of the team for their first Balkan League game agaisnt BC Mures.
Q: You are headed to a difficult away game in Targu Mures, do you think you can steal something from the Romanians?
Aleksandar Todorov: We are going to Targu Mures with a lot of problems, some of our best players are injured and we are not in the best possible shape yet, so I will have to admit that BC Mures are the favorites for this one. Especially after the hard trip that we will have, and their supportive crowd, which is very loud and even aggressive sometimes.
Q: You are in the EUROHOLD Balkan League for the third straight year, do you think that gives you some advantage against BC Mures, who are making a debut?
AT: No, absolutely not.
Q: Rilski Sportist became the champion in the debut edition of the EUROHOLD BIBL back in 2008/09. Having in mind your good new signings, do you think you can make your fans happy with a new title?
AT: I still don know what to expect, as I haven seen all of my players healthy and playing together. One thing I know is that it is very difficult to focus both in the NBL and in the Balkan League at the same time. Playing two competitions at the same time requires 11-12 equal players, as well as good connections between the cities we play in.News
