Aleksandar Todorov: I expect us to have an important role

Aleksandar Todorov, who won the EUROHOLD Balkan League in 2009 with his BC Rilski Sportist Samokov shared his thoughts about the upcoming first round of the National Basketball League in Bulgaria. Aco stated that his team has the potential to play an important role in the domestic championship this year.   "Our preparation didn′t go as well as it was supposed to, due to some injury issues we had going along with it. Most of the players finished late with their national teams, or were injured like Karadjovski, Gruev and Radev. We have a good team, that still hasn′t worked enough together as a unit. I expect us to play better and better not only in Bulgaria, and to have an important role both in our domestic league and in the Balkan League." were Todorov′s words.   Rilski Sportist got off to a great start of the season, winning 89;90 away from home against BC Mures, as the games in Targu Mures are described as one of the toughest away games in the Balkan League.   "Lukoil Academic is Bulgaria′s number 1, and expected favorites for the title. After that  I will put Levski, and a group of couple of teams including ourselves. I expect an interesting championship with at least 2-3 interesting games per round."   Being asked which young player can become the pleasant surprise of the championship, Aco said: "Stanislav Vaklinov has developed a lot and plays good, but he needs to stay still on the ground. I think that with Euroins Cherno More relying only on youngsters, some of them will shine. I would point out at Vasil Kiosev."
