HKK Zrinjski win second in a row, Brod-Svjetlost still win-less

HKK Zrinjski Mostar won their second game in the EUROHOLD Balkan League, after defeating KK Brod-Svjetlost away from home in Slavonski Brod. The final score of the game from the third round of Group A was 78:90.

Armend Kahrimanovic opened up the score with a three-pointer, giving HKK Zrinjski a 0:3 lead. Brod′s Srdan Helbich tied it up at 6:6 with 2.07 in the first, but after that Zrinjski responded with a 7 to nothing run, to lead the game 6:13 with 6.19 remaining. KK Brod-Svjetlost had their first lead of the game with 3.09 remaining (19:17). The two teams exchanged the lead a couple of more times, before concluding the first quarter score at 25:25.

KK Brod-Svjetlost scored the first basket for the second quarter (28:25), before HKK Zrinjski started another strong run - 10:2 in the next more than three minutes, which gave them a 30:35 lead with 5.07 until halftime. The Bosnian team continued with their good play, as their lead was varying around 7-9 points. They had theri first double-digit lead after a good three-point attempt from Branimir Masic for 38:48 with 1.06 left. Halfway through the game, KK Brod-Svjetlost were losing 40:52 after 20 minutes.

The visitors started off the second half in the same manner they finished the first - with aggressive defense and good offense. 1.25 into the third period, they had their biggest lead so far - 42:56. KK Brod-Svjetlost answered with a 8:1 run, to make their losing just 7 points (50:57) with 6.39 to go. Zoran Kalpic′s team weren′t able to do anything more, and after 30 minutes they were once again down by 12 - 60:72.

In the closing quarter of the game, Zrinjski continued to stay ahead of KK Brod-Svjetlost, as the home side only managed to decrease their losing below double digits a couple of times. In the end, the final score was 78:90 as Aljosa Sarac of Brod fixed the score with two made free-throws.

Armend Kahrimanovic scored the most points for the winners from Zrinjski. He finished with 30 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Zeljko Sakic added 29 points along with 6 rebounds, and Almir Hasandic had 16 points. Tomislav Ramljak was the last player from the visitors to finish in double digits - he had 10 points.

Igor Maric was the top scorer for KK Brod-Svjetlost, ending up with 19 points. Srdan Helbich had 14 and Matej Karlovic added 11 in ther team′s losing effort.
