First loss for Mornar, Rilski finally won

Rilski Sportist achieved their second win in this edition of EUROHOLD Balkan League and ended the series of six consecutive losses in all tournaments. Aco Todorov′s team overcame the Montenegrin representative KK Mornar with 84-77 ina real derby in their "Arena Samokov" in the first game of the fourth round of the competition. The hosts played an amazing second half and managed to take a deserved win. Rilski have a 2-2 balance, while it was first loss for the Montenegrin team, as they are on 2-1.The game began with a spectacular dunk by Justin Neuhaus, followed by lay-up from Ivan Lilov. The guest answered with a 5-0 series and then, after 5 minutes on the court, the score was 5-10. Mornar continued to play very strong, and after a excellent play in defence and a good three-point percentage, the score was set to 9-22. After a time-out for the home side, Rilski made a 5-0 record in their favor and reduced the difference to 8 points - 14-22.
In the first minute of the next quarter the teams exchanged 2 points and after a few errors by the guests Rilski Sportist was able to reduced their trail to 6 points - 18-24. Mornar respond immediately and quickly restored their lead of 8 points 29-21 in the middle of the period. After the tv time-out, however, the hosts recorded a new strong series, and again reduced the gap to just 3 points - 28-31. Although Rileco managed to keep close to their opponent, as at the half they trail by 3 points - 35-38.
In the second half, Rilski Sportist totally smashed the young Montenegrin squad. Only some stupid mistakes, didn′t led their lead double digit. After a bad beginning of the game, in the last 2 quarters Ivan Lilov showed all his potential and led his team to the victory - he scored 3 three-pointers and made an amazing dunk after the break. The young combo-guard finished with 22 points, all of them in the second half. The only bad news for Aleksandar Todorov was the injury of his power-forward - the former Balkan captain Atanas Radev. The rumours are that the player has a torn cruciate ligaments and will probably miss the rest of the season.
Except Ivan Lilov, also a great game played the Macedonian playmaker Dimitar Karadzovski, finishing with 22 points, while Aleksandar Gruev added 14 points and 6 assists for Rilski Sportist.
Ivan Jelenic was the best scorer for the visitors with 18 points (5 three-pointers) followed by 16 years old Nikola Ivanovic with 11 and Novak Popovic with 8, along with 7 rebounds.
In the next round on 1th of december Rilski Sportist is going to rest, while Mornar Bar is going to face the Romanian representative BC Mures at home.
