OKK Beograd stun KK Brod-Svjetlost for their fourth win

KK Brod-Svjetlost once again failed to win in the EUROHOLD Balkan League, as they lost their visit to OKK Beograd 83:81. This was the team′s fifth consecutive loss, which put them on the bottom of Group A, while OKK are now 4-1.
 
OKK Beograd got off to a better start of the game - they quickly built a 6:2 lead 2.19 into the first quarter. They maintained ahead of KK Brod-Svjetlost, after some very good plays by Srdjan Zivkovic who had  9 points in the first quarter. However, Srdan Helbich was Brod-Svjetlost′s response, as he started Brod′s run with a three-pointer cutting OKK′s lead to 13:12 with 3:45 to go. The Croatian team managed to turn things around completely and had a 18:19 lead after the first period.
 
Brod-Svjetlost continued their good run in the begining of the second period, after consecutive baskets by Mario Matasovic and Matej Karlovic they held a 21:24 lead. Karlovic scored another 4 consecutive points for Brod′s biggest lead so far - 22:28. With 3.42 remaining until halftime, KK Brod-Svjetlost led by 9 points - 24:33. OKK′s response was a 5-0 run, which cut their deficit down to 29:33. However after 20 minutes of play OKK Beograd were behind 31:35.
 
The visitors managed to stay in front of OKK, and kept a good lead after the start of the third period. With 6.10 minutes remaining in the quarter, Srdan Helbich gave Brod-Svjetlost a 39:47 lead. OKK Beograd made a 10-2 run which tied the game at 49:49. Both teams traded a couple of baskets before Srdjan Zivkovic scored a three-pointer in the last second of the quarter to put OKK ahead 57:55 after 30 minutes.
 
Srdan Helbich scored the first basket of the closing fourth quarter for 57:57. Zivkovic and Vasic scored to give OKK a 5-point lead - 63:58, before Helbich again and Aljosa Sarac cut their team′s deficit to just 1 point (63:62). Alojsa Sarac made his 10th assist of the night after passing to Matej Karlovic who dunked to tie the game at 66:66 with 5.27 to go. Karlovic scored again for 70:71 as Brod-Svjetlost had the lead for the first time in the fourth quarter. OKK responded with a 5-0 run for 75:71, as KK Brod-Svjetlost didn′t manage to turn things around in the next 3 minutes until the end. The final score was 83:81 for OKK Beograd, as in the last offense, Aljosa Sarac missed the second free-throw in order for his team to get the rebound and score, but that didn′t happen.
 
Srdjan Zivkovic scored 18 points for OKK, while Dragan Mitrovic had 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Slobodan Dundjerski had a good game once again - 14 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Slobodan Stanojevic scored 13 points, and Aleksandar Tanaskovic had 11.
 
Aljosa Sarac led KK Brod-Svjetlost with 22 points and 11 assists, while Srdan Helbich added 28 points. Matej Karlovic was the last to score in double digits, adding 18 points in the losing effort.
