BC Mures keep hope alive with a win over Feni

Romanian side BC Mures kept hope alive for advancing in the next phase of the EUROHOLD Balkan League, after defeating KK Feni Industries at home 85:70. Now Csaba Deri′s team must win all of their remaining games in order to fight with Rilski Sportist for the third place.
BC Mures got off to a slow start, while Feni quickly found their rhytm in
the game and got a 1:7 lead. After 10 minutes of play the Macedonian champions
were ahead by 4 points more - 13:17.
In the second period BC Mures made a complete turnaround. After 27:15 they
had an 8-point lead at halftime - 40:32. However nobody expected that Feni will
give up and we were set for an interesting second half.
In the third period Feni completely erased the difference, and won the third
quarter 20:28, which tied the game at 60:60 after 30 minutes of play. The
fourth quarter was going to decide the winner in Targu Mures.
Mures started the last period with four unanswered points for 64:60.
Nicholas Covington scored a three-pointer for 67:60 before Feni managed to
score their first basket of the fourth quarter for 67:62. However Covington
notched in another three-pointer and Mures were up 70:62 with 5.20 remaining.
Covington scored another basket and Jason Forte dunked an alley-oop to take
Mures ahead by 10 points - 74:64. Until the end of regulation Feni weren′t able
to salvage anything out of this game and the final score was settled ad 85:70.
Jason Forte had a strong game with 24 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Aleksandar Mladenovic added 15 points plus 9 rebounds and 4 blocked shots, while Flavius Lapuste had 14. JuJuan Cooley scored a double-double with 13 points and 10 assists, while Nicholas Covington had 12 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds in his BIBL debut.
Jarrid Frye had 13 and 11 rebounds for Feni. Vojdan Stojanovski added 11, and Dusan Knezevic had 10. Slobodan Mihajlovski was the last player to score in double digits - 12 points and 8 rebounds.
After this win BC Mures improved their balance to 2-3 and are on the fourth place in Group B. On the other side despite the loss, Feni remained on top of the group with a balance of 5-2.
